


Hande Küden, first Turkish member of the first violin section since September 2019, has successfully completed her probationary period. Congratulations! “I’m so happy! ”, says the violinist. “I dreamed of playing with the Berliner Philharmoniker when I was thirteen, and now my dream has come true. I am delighted to be able to perform together with great colleagues and be part of a fantastic violin section.”

Biography
Hande Küden is a turning point in the 139-year-long history of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra: she accepted as a permanent member of the first violin.
At the age of 8, Hande Kueden sang in a children’s choir and saw a young violinist at a concert. From then on, she also wanted to play this instrument – although her mother tried to persuade her to play the piano. She insisted on the violin, and a year later was studying at the state conservatory at Çukurova University under Dania Kainova. In 2012, she moved to Berlin to Stephan Picard at the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler” Berlin and in 2015 changed to Tabea Zimmermann, with whom she studied violin and viola.
Kuden has regularly solo concerts mostly many Orchestras in Turkey such as İstanbul, İzmir, Ankara, Adana, Bursa. II. Gulden Turali Violin Competiton, XIV. Edirne International Chamber Music Competiton, Necdet Remzi Atak Violin Competition, X. Independent Music Competition “Individualis” and many others she won first prize in Turkey. Than she got a special prize in Ibolyka Gyarfas Violin Competition Berlin 2014.
After getting Music Prize of Aydin Gun in 2013 by Istanbul Arts and Culture Foundation, she was chosen to be the “Young Musician of Year “ in 2014 by Andante Classical Music Magazine in Turkey.
From 2016-2019 she was deputy Concertmaster at German Symphony Orchestra. 2019 she continues her career at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in First Violin section.
She played her first Debut Concert in Europe with age of 18 with Beethoven Triple Concerto under Turkey Young Philharmonic Orchestra in Beethoven Festival Bonn. Küden also perfomed together with important musicians such as, Tabea Zimmermann, Christian Tetzlaff, Fazil Say, Salvatore Accardo.
